This is the first year the Yellowhead Tribal Council (YTC) is hosting the YTC Talent Show: ‘Nations Stronger Together’ which will be held virtually for the next two weeks beginning on Monday, June 8, 2020, through Thursday, June 18, 2020.
This event is a non-competitive talent showcase - which means each video submission participant will receive ONE FREE ENTRY into their age category in the weekly draw for prizes to be won. The draw will be made each week through Facebook live video on 2020 YTC Virtual Talent Show: ‘Nations Stronger Together”.
The goal of this talent showcase is to provide mental and health and wellbeing support through entertainment by highlighting our people within our four-member nations: Alexander First Nation, Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, O’Chiese First Nation, Sunchild First Nation and students enrolled at the Yellowhead Tribal College. YTC is launching a call for video submissions for the following categories each week:
WEEK 1: Category: ALL TALENT - Dancing, Fine Arts, Family Skits, Singing, Other: Comedy, Magician, Storytelling, Family Skits
Video Submission Dates: Monday, June 8th through Thursday, June 11th
Draw Date: Friday, June 12th, 2020
WEEK 2: Category: ALL TALENT - Dancing, Fine Arts, Family Skits, Singing, Other: Comedy, Magician, Storytelling, Family Skits
Video Submission Dates: Monday, June 15th through Thursday, June 18th
Draw Date: Friday, June 19th, 2020
Who can participate?
Yellowhead Tribal Council nation members from Alexander First Nation, Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, O’Chiese First Nation, Sunchild First Nation and students enrolled at the Yellowhead Tribal College. There is no age limit for participants. However, if the participant is not of legal age, the parent or guardian must virtually sign the submission form. Contest categories are open to children, youth and adults. 3 winners from each age category will be drawn. (See ages and prizes listed below)
How do I enter the contest?
The weekly contest deadline is every Thursday at 4:30 PM with the draw being made the following day on Friday sometime before 4:30 PM. To enter the contest, you must:
(A) Film a video for your chosen category while keeping in mind the minimum requirement of 1-minute and a maximum of 3-minutes. Filming with your smartphone is accepted. Here is a video on how to edit in iMovie using your phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zBzDXGhJuk.
Record a video that showcases your talent. Please state your first/last name, age, and the YTC First Nation that you are from (If you are a Yellowhead Tribal College student, state your program and your First Nation).

(C) Must post on the 2020 YTC Virtual Talent Show “Nations Stronger Together” Facebook page and use #2020YTCvirtualtalentshow
(D) Only one entry per person is permitted.(E) After the video and submission form are sent - your submission will be confirmed by your video being posted onto our Facebook page: 2020 YTC Virtual Talent Show: ‘Nations Stronger Together”. We encourage participants to be proud to share their talents, feel free to post more videos using the hashtag #2020YTCvirtualtalentshow
How is a winner chosen?

What do I get if I win?
The three (3) drawn winners will receive a prize in exchange for their video submission. In addition, their work will be attributed to some promotional materials used by Yellowhead Tribal Council for future events. Winners will receive the prize within their age category:
The first 50 people who enter into the contest per week will have their name entered to win a BBQ food basket - $100 value - we will give away 3 baskets per week!
