About Health Services
As a unified Yellowhead Tribal Council and is guided by Treaty Number 6 and it’s Medicine Chest, and Famine and Pestilence Clauses, our Elders, and the support of our member Nations. Yellowhead Tribal Council Health will continue to advocate for the Treaty Right to Health while maintaining traditional values and working collaboratively, and in partnership, with the Yellowhead Tribal Council member Nations, and the four Nations’ Health Directors towards effective health programming.

Mission
Through the provision of advocacy, education, and health-related professional services and programs, Yellowhead Tribal Council Health will support the member First Nations towards achieving holistic health and wellness.

Work
Yellowhead Tribal Council Health provides support and services to the Yellowhead Tribal Council member First Nations:
- Mental Wellness Crisis Response Team
- Trauma Informed Health and Cultural Support Program - Resolution Health Support Program (RHSP), Indian Residential School Survivors (IRS) Support, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples, Indian Day Schools, expanded Trauma Informed Health Supports
- Dietitian Services
- Yellowhead Tribal Council Hydroponics Garden Project
- Health Co-Management (HCoM) - there are six sub-committees facilitating the process of co-management: Mental Health and Addictions, Children and Youth, Health Prevention Programs, Health Protection, Operations and Support, and Non-insured Health Benefits. The member Nations participate in various capacities.
