Supports healing and wellness through culturally rooted rehabilitation services.
In 2025, Yellowhead Tribal Council expanded its Rehabilitation Services program to include Wellness, reflecting a stronger focus on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of YTC First Nations youth, members, and staff. This change also marked the program’s transition out of the YTC Health Department, allowing it to operate as a standalone service area while working closely with and supporting the YTC Youth Coordinator.
The addition of Wellness broadens the department’s mandate, focusing not only on rehabilitation therapies but also on promoting healthy lifestyles, resilience, and prevention-based approaches. Through culturally responsive programs and initiatives, the department seeks to encourage healthy behaviors and improve overall well-being for communities and staff alike.
Wellness & Rehabilitation Services is committed to:
Supporting the physical, mental, and emotional health of YTC members.
Providing therapy and treatment services tailored to community needs.
Working with youth and staff to build long-term wellness strategies.
Delivering programs that strengthen overall health and quality of life.
