About Post-Secondary Student Support Program

The Post Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) is proud to provide grant funding and student support services for YTC member First Nations students attending post-secondary education.

Vision

To administer the post-secondary student support effectively and efficiently, and to enhance the services to assist students to graduate from their program of studies.

Mandate
To provide grant funding and student support services for the YTC member First Nation students attending post-secondary education.

Work

Provide support to eligible and approved post-secondary students, including tuition, monthly living allowance, books, equipment, travel, parking, graduation incentives and recognition, academic advising and advocating, career planning and reporting to Indigenous Services Canada. Implementation and monitoring of YTC PSSSP policy and procedures. YTC student information system database.

Funding Priority Categories

  • Continuing students of our four member First Nations including post-secondary graduate students, successful completion of the current academic year, and medical withdrawal
  • High school graduates
  • New and returning students
  • Tuition only 

We provide support to eligible and approved post-secondary students which include:

  • Tuition
  • Books
  • Registration fees
  • Program deposits
  • Initial exam fees
  • Tutorials
  • Health and dental fees
  • Monthly student allowance
  • Travel support
  • Financial advice and planning
  • Career counselling
  • Student Advocacy


Application Deadlines: Fall and Winter - May 31 & Spring and Summer - April 5.
