Yellowhead Tribal Council – Office Closure 

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 - Treaty No. 6 Territory: Today, as Canada continues to take progressive action to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, the safety of First Nations Peoples and staff is a priority at Yellowhead Tribal Council (YTC). YTC is following the Chief Medical Officer’s health and safety precautions and procedures in protecting Elders, staff and students at the YTC Centre administration building located at 17304-105 Avenue, and at the Yellowhead Tribal College offices located at 10045-156 Street in Edmonton. 

It is necessary to take further precautionary measures to ensure the safety of Elders, staff, students and the people of the four YTC Member Nations: Alexander First Nation, Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, Sunchild First Nation and O’Chiese First Nation. Furthermore, the Yellowhead Tribal Council Edmonton offices will hereby be closed to the public, at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17th through Tuesday, March 31st. The Yellowhead Tribal College offices will hereby be closed to the public on Thursday, March 19th through Tuesday, March 31st. All YTC employees are thereby instructed to work remotely from home for the next two weeks. 

A list of cancellations/postponement of programming held by Yellowhead Tribal Council will be published and updated on our website and social media channels.
