The Post Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) is proud to provide grant funding and student support services for YTC member First Nations students attending post-secondary education.

Vision

To administer the post-secondary student support effectively and efficiently, and to enhance the services to assist students to graduate from their program of studies.

To provide grant funding and student support services for the YTC member First Nation students attending post-secondary education.

Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP)

The Yellowhead Tribal Council provides support to eligible and approved post-secondary students from our four member First Nations. This includes a range of financial, academic, and advisory supports to help students succeed in their academic journeys.

Supports Available:

  • Tuition

  • Books and required course materials

  • Registration fees

  • Program deposits

  • Initial examination fees

  • Tutorials

  • Health and dental fees

  • Monthly living allowance

  • Travel support (for students attending institutions away from home)

  • Parking (when applicable)

  • Graduation incentives and recognition

  • Financial advice and planning

  • Academic advising and student advocacy

  • Career planning and support

We also ensure the implementation and monitoring of YTC PSSSP policies and procedures, and manage student records through the YTC student information system database. Regular reporting is completed as required by Indigenous Services Canada.

Funding Priority Categories:

  1. Continuing Students – including post-secondary and graduate students who have successfully completed the current academic year or had an approved medical withdrawal

  2. High School Graduates

  3. New and Returning Students

  4. Tuition-Only Support


Application Deadlines:

  • Fall & Winter Semesters: May 31

  • Spring & Summer Semesters: April 5
