Nurse Practitioner

YTC Health is seeking a nurse practitioner to assist Sunchild First Nation and O’Chiese First Nation in ensuring the ongoing medical care of nations' members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
  • Cultural Sensitivity training


SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provide women’s health services
  • PAP screening
  • Breast cancer screening
  • Contraceptive management including IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon insertions/removals

Provide primary care services (including not limited to):
  • Management of acute and chronic illnesses
  • Suturing, mole removal and skin biopsy
  • Illness across childhood
  • Diabetes Management
  • Driver’s Medical Exams
  • Completion of pre-op and physical assessment forms for surgery, dental and treatment

STI/BBI screening, treatment and follow-up
  • Working in consultation with STI/BBI services at AHS
  • Collaborating with ECHO program for HCV treatment
  • Outreach into the communities with NNADAP and harm reduction workers
  • Phlebotomy skills

WORKING CONDITIONS: 
  • Collaboration with nurses at the health Centers for management of walk-ins, wound care, ongoing treatment orders, etc.
  • Ability to refer to specialists and specialty clinics
  • Self-motivated and has the ability independently with minimal supervision



Salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience

Salary range: TBD
