Strengthening Our Team: YTC Staff Development Days

On May 12th and 13th, the Yellowhead Tribal Council staff came together for two impactful days of staff development and connection. It was a valuable opportunity to strengthen our team, deepen our understanding of the diverse services we provide, and reaffirm our shared mission of supporting our member First Nations.

We extend our gratitude to all the departments and teams that participated:

• Administration: Oversees and supports all Tribal Council operations.

• Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP): Provides funding and support for YTC member First Nation students in post-secondary education.

• Legal & Environmental Services: Offers guidance on legal matters and environmental protection.

• Housing Services: Provides technical guidance for housing design, construction, and inspections on reserve.

• Maintenance Management: Ensures the upkeep and sustainability of infrastructure and capital projects.

• Emergency Management and Fire Safety Services: Protects community health and safety through emergency planning and fire services.

• Health Services: Delivers holistic health care for YTC Nation members.

• Mental Wellness Response Team: Provides rapid, culturally grounded mental health support for crisis situations.

• Indigenous Skills & Employment Training Strategy (ISETS): Connects members to skills training and employment opportunities.

• Child and Family Services: Focuses on child and family wellness for three YTC member Nations.

• Youth Division: Builds youth leadership, identity, and resilience through empowerment programs.

• Wellness & Rehabilitation: Supports healing and wellness through culturally rooted rehabilitation services.

• Communications: Enhances awareness and protects the Tribal Council’s public image.

• Yellowhead Indigenous Education Foundation: Funds Indigenous-led education and cultural programs.

• Yellowhead Tribal College: Provides culturally grounded post-secondary education and lifelong learning opportunities.

• Yellowhead Tribal Community Corrections Society: Delivers probation and court-related services to YTC members.
